Obituary

Mitchell Ryan Kamlitz, 47, of Gwinner, ND, a devoted father, outdoorsman, and friend to many, passed away suddenly at his home on February 17, 2025.

Born on June 21, 1977 in Jamestown ND, to Karen and Marvin Kamlitz grew up with a passion for the great outdoors. He spent countless hours fishing, hunting, and off-roading, always seeking the next thrill and never-ending adventure.

Mitchell attended Jamestown Public School graduating in 1996. On September 6, 2003 Mitchell was united in marriage to RaeAnn Kracht. They later divorced. Throughout his life he worked at various jobs including McDonald’s (in high school), as well as Wedgcor, Duratech, Newman Signs, Cavendish and most recently Bobcat Doosan for the past 15 years.

His love for nature and the outdoors was contagious, and he shared it with his three young sons, teaching them the ways of the wilderness and creating memories that will last a lifetime. As a father, Mitchell was unparalleled. He was always there for his boys, supporting them, guiding them, and cheering them on at every turn. He attended their school events, derbies and was always available to lend a listening ear or a helping hand.

Mitchell is survived by his three sons, Mason (Alexis Schreiner) Oakes ND, Hunter, Jamestown ND, and Ganon, Jamestown ND; his father Marvin (Kelly) Kamlitz Milnor ND; his siblings, Brian (Melissa) Kamlitz, Kimber Hansen Fargo ND and Elissa Kamlitz Jamestown ND and a step brother Lee Harshman of Kansas City MO; and a large extended family and circle of friends who will deeply miss him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Karen Kamlitz and his grandparents Melvin and Marcella Kamlitz and LJ and Edna Hunter.
