Melissa Shoaf, 59, Kulm, ND died Wednesday January 11, 2023 at her home in Kulm.

Melissa was born November 6, 1963 at Tucson, AZ, the daughter of Robert and Jane (Legere) Jansen. They moved to Boulder, CO where she attended school and later received her GED.

She and Dan Shoaf were married April 18, 2003 at Denver, CO. They made their home Denver where she was a stay-at-home mom. In 2010 they moved to Kulm, ND.  In 2017 she went to work as a scale operator for the Knife River Construction Company.

Melissa is survived by her husband Dan, Kulm, ND; 5 children, Nathaniel Jansen, Zack Jansen, both of Denver, CO; twins, Tanner Clark, Taylor Clark, both of Arvada, CO; Natalia Shoaf, Kulm, ND; 1 grandchild; her siblings, Jennifer Kiel, Anne Pontius, Nancy Jansen, Ben Jansen, Matthew Jansen and Michele Crocker.

I can’t believe I’m not gonna be there today….I keep thinking it’s gonna be all a bad dream and you are really still here, but I guess that’s my hope and dream….I know your watching over us now. You’ve always been the most out going person and the funniest person I know….it seems you never met a stranger and could talk to anyone at anytime. That’s part of what made you so amazing. I love and miss you and always will til we meet again!
