Lydia Herr, 91, Wishek, ND Died Tuesday Evening December 24, 2013 at the Napoleon Care Center in Napoleon, ND.
Lydia Goehring was born October 6, 1922 on the farm West of Ashley, ND, the daughter of Jacob Goehring and Lydia (Schock) Goehring. She received her elementary education at the Jewel Township School and grew to womanhood in the vicinity and helped on the family farm.
She and Adam Herr were married July 17, 1941 at Ashley, ND. They made their home on a farm Southwest of Wishek, ND. After the death of her husband in 1981, she continued to reside on the farm. In December 2008 she entered the Napoleon Care Center.
She is survived by 4 sons, Jerrold Herr; Dennis Herr; Lambert Herr; Brion (friend Debbie) Herr; 3 daughters, Brenda (Verne) Whitman; Bonita (Bob) Schmidt; Blanche (Wayne) Weber; 17 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sons, Larry and James; 1 grandson, Steven Herr; 2 daughter-in-laws, Diane and Mable; 3 brothers and 1 sister.
The funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM Saturday December 28, 2013 at the Ashley Baptist Church in Ashley, ND with Rev. Chris McLaughlin, officiating.
The interment will be at the Wishek City Cemetery in Wishek, ND.
Visitation: 9 - 7 Friday December 27, 2013 at the Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown and 1 hour before the service at the church.
