Lorraine Sam, 64, Jamestown, ND died Tuesday February 6, 2007 at the Med Center One Hospital in Bismarck, ND.
Lorraine Haakenson was born March 4, 1942 in Griggs County, west of Binford, ND, the daughter of Henry Haakenson and Margaret (Meisel) Haakenson. She attended the local school where she received her elementary education and grew to womanhood in the vicinity.
She and Arnie Eli were married and made their home in Vancouver, WA.
She later married Samuel Sam at Portland, OR where they resided. Following the death of her husband, she moved back to North Dakota and made her home in Dickey County until moving to Sykeston, ND. She moved to Jamestown and has continued to live here.
She is survived by her children, Brenda Eli, Vancouver, WA, Joyce Sam, Minneapolis, MN, Rhonda (Brock) Lura, Carrington, ND, Tyrell Rezlaff, LaCrosse, WI, Nvette Retzlaff, LaCrosse, WI, 9 grandchildren, 7 sisters and 3 brothers, Margene Oien, Cleveland, ND, Marna Mae (Robert) Falk, Courtenay, ND, Ruth (Dallas) Johnson, Pingree, ND, Evelyn Wagner, Jamestown, ND, Elaine Pillatzke, Jamestown, ND, Dorothy (Leonard), Bonnet, Goodrich, ND, Dolly (Marcus) Dockter, Jamestown, ND, Leroy Haakenson, Eldridge, ND, Johnny Haakenson, Jamestown, ND, and Dennis Haakenson, Fargo, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 1 sister and 2 brothers.
The memorial service will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday February 12, 2007 in the Haut Funeral Chapel at Jamestown, ND, with Pastor Bryce Tahran, officiating.
