Juli Diede

Juli Diede, 65, Jamestown, ND died Monday December 24, 2018 at Sanford Health in Bismarck.

Juli was born October 5, 1953 at Jamestown, ND, the daughter of Gerald and Ann (Ashbaugh) Johnson. She attended school in Jamestown and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1970, skipping her own graduation to be with her newlywed Jerry in Bamberg, Germany.

Juli and Jerry Qual were married March 6, 1971 at Jamestown and made their home there where she worked as a cook for the Jamestown Public Schools at Washington Elementary.

Juli and Curtis Diede were married November 22, 1977 at Valley City. They made their home in Jamestown where she continued to work at the school. Following her retirement, she moved to Bismarck for a short period and then later back to Jamestown.

She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, loved playing Bingo, sewing and just hanging out with her grandchildren. Her favorite pastime was watching Forensic Files; always guessing “Whodunit” within the first 5 minutes of watching an episode. Christmas was always a grandiose event for Juli, even going as far as to decorate her Studio 56 village houses with fake snow to match the season.

She is survived by her children, Jayson (Jennifer) Qual, Fargo, ND; Shauna (Troy) Vandehoven, Jamestown, ND; Austin (Brady Vasichek) Diede, Bismarck, ND; 4 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; 1 sister, Jodi (Harry) Gilbertson, Fargo, ND, and 1 brother, Jerome (Sherri) Johnson, Mandan, ND.

Juli was preceded in death by her parents, the love of her life, Curtis, 1 son, Justin, and 1 brother, Jerry
