Obituary

Jon "Sparky" Anderson, 54, Gackle, ND died Thursday morning December 3, 2009, west of Gackle, ND, as a result of a motor vehicle accident.

Jonathan Paul Anderson was born November 5, 1955 at Gackle, ND, the son of Jalmer Anderson and Betty (Schlichenmayer) Anderson. He received his education at the Gackle Public School and graduated from Gackle High School in 1974. He attended Northwestern College, Roseville, MN for 1 year and bought the family farm in 1977.

He and Shelly Knoblich were married July 24, 1987 in Shenandoah, IA. They made their home SW of Gackle, ND. Over the years he owned and operated Anderson Feed Lot, Anderson Trucking and Sparky's Gas & Bulk Service.

As a boy, Sparky placed his personal faith in Jesus Christ as his Savior from sin and always knew his eternal home is in heaven. His life was modeled after Joshua 24:15 "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."

He is survived by his wife, Shelly, Gackle, ND; his most important gifts, his 2 daughters, Erica Anderson, Fargo, ND; Lindsay Anderson, Gackle, ND; 1 step-son, Tyler Goldade Jamestown, ND; his mother, Betty Anderson, Jamestown, ND; 3 brothers, William(Carol) Anderson, Clinton, MO; Jim Anderson, Fargo, ND; Carlton (Jill) Anderson, Iowa Falls, IA; 4 sisters, Sheila (Rory) Metz, Alfred, ND; Jean Titlbach, Prairie DuChien, WI; Josephine (John) Quay, Sewell, NJ; Carleen (Gary) Pennington, Lynwood, WA; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.

The funeral services will be at 1:30 PM Tuesday December 8, 2009 at the Church of the Nazarene in Jamestown, ND with Pastors Bill and Carlton Anderson, officiating.

The interment will be at a later date.

Visitation: 9-5 Monday December 7, 2009 at the Gackle Funeral Chapel, Gackle, ND and 11:30 AM at the Church of the Nazarene in Jamestown.

Family Friends Sharing Service: 7:00 PM Monday December 7, 2009 at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Gackle, ND.

We were shocked and saddened by the loss of Jon. My daughter Emily called and told us. If I was not so busy in school we would be there with you. I wanted to let you know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. God bless you.

Shelly, I was so saddened to read of Sparky's accident. I'm so glad we were able to spend time together this fall at Sheila and Rory's. We had such a great time sharing stories and the sauna again. Ben and Pearl send their condolences also.
