James Vyvyan

January 25, 1974 — September 7, 2022

Gackle

James Lee Vyvyan, 48, Gackle, ND, went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 7, 2022.

James Lee Vyvyan was born January 25, 1974, in Iron Mountain, Michigan.  He was raised in Florence, WI, by his mother Ranee’ Vyvyan and while still young met his step-father David Dower and moved to Kenosha, WI.  James was raised with his sister Tanya Metz (Dower) and lived in Kenosha, WI for most of their adolescent lives.

James worked in residential fencing and landscaping jobs, and eventually moved back to northern Wisconsin and began installing docks with other family.  After his sister and husband (Jon Metz) moved back to ND to help with the family farm, they moved James and her mother Ranee’ out to ND as well to all be together.  James took up a welding job in Casselton and their mother bought a house on Main Street, Gackle.

After a few years in Casselton, the family moved James into his mother’s house.  His most favorite hobbies were fishing (his nick name was phish), hunting, grilling, frying/smoking fish, cooking for the whole family so we all could spend time together.

He absolutely loved teaching his kids, his niece and nephew and anyone else that opened an ear how to fish.

James is survived by his 2 children, Alexis Vyvyan, and Gavin Vyvyan, Abercrombie, ND. His mother Ranee’ Vyvyan, Gackle, ND, his sister Tanya Metz (Dower), brother in-law Jon Metz, and niece Mabelyn Metz and nephew William Metz, His Uncles Ben Vyvyan and John Vyvyan, and Grandmother Linda Little.

James was preceded in death by his step-father David Dower, and his two grandfather, Jim Little and John Vyvyan.

A private family service will be held to spread his ashes.

Any cards, gifts, monetary donations or to help cover financial hardship costs can be mailed to: James Vyvyan, 507 Main St, Gackle, ND 58442.
