Obituary

Howard "Kelly" Murchie, 60, Jamestown, ND passed away at his home on January 8, 2013 under Hospice Care, surrounded by his family.

Kelly Murchie was born April 16, 1952 at Crosby, ND, the son of Glen and Lucy (Baker) Murchie. He received his elementary education in Medina and Cleveland, ND graduating from the Cleveland High School in 1971. He served in the National Guard from 1971-1980.

On December 25, 1971 he married his best friend and soul mate, Dottie Johnson, enjoying 41 years of marriage. He worked in construction throughout his life, the latest for 27 years at Redlin Johnson Siding Co. retiring in 2009 due to a back injury.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Jamestown, ND. He enjoyed riding his Harley and Corvair trike, and many trips were taken on these, to Sturgis, Montana, Wyoming and various places in ND. Tinkering in the garage was his passion, building many things. Camping with family and friends was also enjoyed, always being able to ‘build' that perfect campfire and roast the perfect marshmallow. . He especially enjoyed his two trips to Alaska, a Caribou hunt and a fishing trip with Dottie. Kelly was a quiet man but known for his sense of humor, bright blue eyes, quick wit and smile. He was also willing to help someone who was in need.

He is survived by his wife Dottie, Jamestown, ND, two sons, Corey (Candace), Jamestown, ND, Nick (Sarah), Devils Lake, ND, three grandchildren, Dylan, Hannah and Easton, two brothers, Phil (Elaine) Murchie, Fargo, ND, Duke McCarthy, Cleveland, ND, four sisters, Lolly (Bill) Klose, Urbana, ND, Cheryl (Chuck) Biel, Carrington, ND, Ann (Don) Yost, Lincoln, NE, and Linda (Rich) Michaelis, Paynesville, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Casey and sister Judy.

Funeral Service will be at 10:30 AM Tuesday January 15, 2013 in St. John's Lutheran Church in Jamestown, ND with Rev. Lucinda Lien, officiating.

Prayer Service- 7:00 PM Monday January 14, 2013 at the Funeral Home.
Visitation 1-5 Sunday and 9-8 Monday at the Funeral Home
Burial - Cleveland Cemetery Cleveland, ND.
