Eugene C Batsch

Eugene Batsch, 69, Minot, ND died Tuesday, September 30, 2014 in Minot.

Eugene Clarence Batsch was born May 18, 1945 at Jamestown, ND, the son of Edward and Bertha (Gumke) Batsch. Eugene attended school in Devils Lake from September 15, 1952 until May of 1953. He returned home to live with his parents until the summer of 1959 when his parents enrolled him at Grafton Developmental Center so he could learn a trade to become self-supporting.

In August of 1972 Eugene moved to Minot to attend the Vocational School. He had various jobs in his life. At the time of his death he resided at Henry Tower's in Minot, ND.
During his free time Eugene enjoyed watching TV, walking outdoors, watching animals, eating out at fast food places and spending time socializing with his neighbors.

Eugene always looked forward to the Batsch Family Reunions where he would come and reunite with family, he was always very happy to get an invite to those and we are very thankful that his case-workers would drive him to these.

Survivors include his 2 brothers: Elmer (Doris) Batsch, Gackle, ND; Leonard (Charlotte) Batsch, Valley City, ND; 2 sisters: Annetta (Arnold) Schlecht, Gackle, ND and Doris (Clifton) Hill, Columbia, Missouri; and sisters-in-law, Violet Batsch, and June Batsch, Jamestown, ND; brother-in-law, Melvin Schuldt, Billings, MT; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters, Lorraine (Ted) Moench, Gertrude Schuldt, Florence Batsch; an infant sister, 6 brothers: Edwin, Ray, Jack (Loretta), Norbert, Marvin and Roland.

Memorial Service will be at 2:00 PM Sunday October 12, 2014 in the Haut Funeral Home in Jamestown, ND with Pastor Bernie Jasken, officiating.

Interment will take place in the Gackle City Cemetery, Gackle, ND
