Eldora Dakota

Eldora Reuther, 90, Fargo, ND formerly of the Jamestown, ND community died early Sunday morning June 25, 2017 at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND.

Eldora Pleines was born July 28, 1926 at Pettibone, ND to John and Catherina (Guthmiller) Pleines. They lived on the family farm where she grew to womanhood.

She and Christian Reuther were married November 10, 1948 at Pettibone, ND. They moved to Edgeley, ND where they resided until his death in 1957 after which the family moved to Ashely, ND where she helped out at the local hospital as a nurse’s aide. In 1972 Eldora started working at the Jamestown Hospital as a nurse’s aide helping to deliver babies until 1985 when she began at the daycare at Jamestown State Hospital until her retirement in 1993; she continued to reside in Jamestown until moving to Fargo in March of 2015.

Eldora’s love of dancing and waltz music was timeless. She also enjoyed embroidering and crocheting.

She is survived by 3 daughters; Marcy (Duane) Wolf, Leola, SD; Gladys Hopkins, Fargo, ND; Kathy Thompson, New Rockford, ND; 5 grandchildren, Kevin (Jenni) Wolf, Shelley Merkel, Travis (Candi) Hopkins, Christopher (Frances) Thompson, Brianna (Steve) Rohrich; and 5 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; 3 brothers, Reinhold, Joseph and Arnold; and 1 grandson, Brian.
