Obituary

Mrs. Edna Weispfenning, 91, Fredonia, ND died Sunday evening September 5, 2021 in the Sanford Medical Center in Aberdeen, SD.

Edna Entzi was born November 3, 1929 the daughter of Edward Entzi and Emma (Ketterling) Entzi.  She received her elementary education in the local rural school and grew to womanhood in the vicinity where she helped on the family farm.

She and Milton Weispfenning were married November 8, 1948 at her parent’s home.  They made their home in Fredonia where Milton did various job before starting an excavating business.  Edna was a homemaker and raised her 4 children.  Following the death of her husband in 1978 she continued to reside in Fredonia.  She started babysitting, painting and cleaning.

She was a member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Fredonia, ND, where she was involved in ALCW and prepared the Alter for Communion. Through the years she had a love for the Lord. She loved spending time with family, she enjoyed gardening, reading, canning, pickling, cooking and baking for family and friends.  Her specialty being Kuchen and Strudels.  Edna also served 20 years on the city council.

Surviving are one son and two daughters, Glenn (Bev Hawn) Weispfenning, Fredonia, ND; Barbara (Leo) Johnson, Kulm, ND and Jolene Biloff, Jamestown, ND; daughter-in-law, Patty Weispfenning, Fredonia, ND; 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; 1 sister Etala (Darrel) Ruff, Willmar, MN; 2 sisters-in-law, Irene Entzi, Edgeley, ND and Violet Entzi, Fredonia, ND.

She was preceded in death by her husband, son Steve, 2 brothers, Harold and Alvin; 2 sisters Esther Fuchs and Adeline Fuchs.

Funeral Service will be at 1:00 PM Monday September 13, 2021 in the Haut Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center in Jamestown, ND, with Rev. Randall Schlecht officiating.

There will be a prayer service at 7:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.

Burial will take place at the Martin Luther Lutheran Cemetery, North of Fredonia, ND.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Edna. My thoughts to Jolene, Barbara, Glenn, and Patty. Whenever I saw Edna when I was home, including the services for Marion, and then mom, Edna was always eager to say hi and was interested in what was going on in my life.
