Edna Buck, 87, died Saturday morning October 30, 2010 at her home in Fargo, ND.
Edna Weisz was born January 7, 1923 North of Lehr, ND, the daughter of John Weisz and Marie (Iszler) Weisz. She received her education at the local rural school and attended Streeter High School and resided in the area for many years.
Edna and Reinhold Buck were married March 24, 1940 and made their home on a farm 6 ½ miles South of Streeter. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Member of Women's World Service, President of Homemakers Club, 4-H leader for many years, Sunday School Teacher, served on the Nutrition Board of Stutsman County, and a charter member of the Senior Citizens Club of Streeter.
Edna and Reinhold retired from farming in the early 80's and continued to live on the farm. After the death of Reinhold in 2001, she moved to Park Avenue Apartments in Fargo where she lived the remainder of her life. Edna enjoyed playing cards and games with her many new friends.
She is survived by her 5 children: Wilbert (Arlis) Buck, West Fargo, ND; Rodney (Betty) Buck, St. Paul, MN; Marvelene (Steven) Kitzman, Fargo, ND; Koreen (Daniel) Tongen, The Woodlands, TX, Brenda (Robert) Steider, The Woodlands, TX; 13 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; a brother, Raymond (Tippy) Weisz, Brentwood, CA; 2 sisters, Averna (Walter) Kubler; Alice Wyatt, all of Lodi, CA; 2 sister-in-laws: Bernice Weisz, Lodi, CA and Gerda Nylander, Tioga, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, (Reinhold), 1 grandson, (Dallas), 2 brothers (Ervin and Milton Weisz) and 1 infant sister.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M. Thursday November 4, 2010 at the Haut Funeral Home in Jamestown, ND, with Pastor Bryce Tahran, officiating.
The interment will be made in the Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, ND.
Visitation - 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. Wednesday & 1 hour before the service @ the funeral home in Jamestown
Prayer service: 7:30 Wednesday at the Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown, ND.
