Darcy E. Haugen, 91, Jamestown, ND died Monday March 28, 2022 at Ave Maria in Jamestown, ND.
Darcy was born May 7, 1930 at Hankinson, ND, the daughter of Arnold and Lyla (Gollnick) Medenwald. She attended school at Hankinson and graduated Hankinson High School in 1948. She attended Mayville College where she received her one- year teaching certificate. She later attended Valley City State College and received her B.S. Degree in Education.
In 1953 she and Marvin B. Haugen were married and lived in Cleveland, ND. They moved to Jamestown in 1967 She taught in area schools of Cleveland, Eldridge, and Woodworth and Jamestown Junior High, becoming Stutsman County Superintendent of Schools from 1981-1983. In 1990, Darcy obtained her realtor’s license and was a Realtor at Century 21 Heritage Realty until retiring at the age of 84. Darcy entered Ave Maria in 2022.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the VFW Women’s Auxiliary. Darcy enjoyed music, dancing, knitting, walking outside and her family.
Darcy is survived by her Children, Michelle Dockter-Schlager, Jamestown, ND; Debbie (Ed) Attleson, Spiritwood, ND; Rick (Annette) Haugen, Jamestown, ND; Corey (Becky) Haugen, Argusville, ND; Kelly Haugen, Dilworth, MN; step son, Ron (Brenda) Haugen, Mission, TX; 13 grandchildren, Chad (Amy) Dockter, Melissa (Dean) Gilbertson, Chris (Erin) Dockter, Tyler (Brianna) Attleson, Jason, Brandon, Amber, Andrew, Kalin, Josh and Brenna (Ben) Yager, Jeremy, Tanya (Jonah) Neuharth; and 21 great grandchildren, Kylie, Jacob, Sierra (Dakotah) Daker, Cameron, Taydem, Jack, Kase; Huxley, Everley; Damon, Ashtyn, Isyss; Avery, Jaxen, Patrick, Isla, Thomas; Cole, Alexandra, Cayden and Caleb.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, Kenneth, Charles and an infant brother Lloyd, and also twin infant sisters, Nancy & Joyce.
