Clara Nitschke, 102, Jud, ND died Sunday evening June 24, 2012 at the Ave Maria Village in Jamestown, ND.
Clara Nitschke was born January 20, 1910 at the family farm in Jud, ND, the daughter of John Nitschke and Margaret (Hummel) Nitschke. She attended the local rural school where she received her elementary education.
She and John Nitschke were married on December 14, 1929 at Aberdeen, SD. They made their home on a farm 4 ½ miles Southeast of Jud. In 1974 they retired and moved into Jud where they have resided. Following the death of her husband in 1988, Clara continued to reside in Jud. Clara entered the Central Dakota Village Nursing Home in 2002.
She was a member of the Trinity UCC Congregational church in Jud. She was a member of the Ladies Aid and church choir. She helped with Bible School and was a Sunday school teacher.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Ruphina Nitschke, Libby, MT; 2 grandchildren, David Nitschke; Pam Roll, both of Libby, MT; 3 great grandchildren, Tiffany and Tabitha Nitschke; Krista Roll, all of Libby, MT; 2 great great grandsons, Joshua Langton, Libby, MT, Jackson, Billings, MT, and 1 sister, Ruth Mettler, Ellensburg, WA, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John; son Lester, 1 sister, and 5 brothers.
Funeral Service - 10:30 AM Friday, June 29, 2012 at the United Methodist Church in Jud, ND with Rev. Rodney Ulmer, officiating.
Interment - UCC Cemetery in Jud, ND.
Visitation: 9am - 7pm Thursday June 28, 2012 @ the Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown, ND.
