Barry Carlson

October 2, 1958 — July 3, 2023

Barry Lee Carlson, 64, Osseo, Minnesota, passed away on July 3rd, 2023, at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, following a sudden decline in health. A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 17 at 1:30 PM at the Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls, Minnesota.

Barry was born October 2, 1958, in Thief River Falls, Minnesota. He was the third of six children, being the only son to E. Dale and Marjorie Carlson. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls in 1977. During his high school years he was an active member of  the Future Farmers of America (FFA), along with working on the family farm. He graduated from Moorhead State University in Moorhead, Minnesota in 1981 with a degree in finance. He worked for several banks throughout his lifetime, ending his career at US Bank in Minneapolis.

Barry loved being the goofball jokester and used many disguised voices with his comments towards his sisters throughout his life. Even so, he always made sure his family was taken care of when needed. At Christmas he enjoyed being with his nearest family members, bringing bags of gifts for everyone.

He was preceded in death by his parents, E. Dale and Marjorie Carlson, and one sister, Ruth Carlson.

Barry is survived by his four remaining sisters: Janet (Chris) Schermbeck, Kettering, Ohio; Wanda Sobotka, Lafayette, Colorado; Katie (Sang Rog) Choi, Vegreville, Alberta, Canada; Nancy (Robin) Kittelson Enderlin, North Dakota; one niece and five nephews; as well as numerous cousins and friends.

Because of Barry’s love of animals, memorials may be sent to any local animal  shelter, or sent to Angel of Hope Animal Rescue at:
