Obituary
Alice Kienzle, 89, Gackle, ND died Tuesday June 19, 2012 at the Eventide at Hi-Acres in Jamestown, ND.
Alice Rath was born June 23, 1922 at Gackle, ND the daughter of John Rath Jr. and Maria (Dreichel) Rath. She attended the local school where she received her elementary education and grew to womanhood in the vicinity.
She and Art Kienzle were married November 28, 1948 at Gackle, ND. They made their home on a farm SW of Gackle until 1950 when they moved to a farm NW of Gackle. They farmed there until January 1978 when they moved into Gackle. She was employed at the Gackle Care Center from 1987 - 1997. Following the death of her husband June 15, 1998 she continued to reside in Gackle until September of 1999 when she moved to the James House in Jamestown. In 2009 she entered the Gackle Care Center and in December of 2010 she entered the Eventide at Hi-Acres in Jamestown.
She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Gackle.
She is survived by her daughter, Peggy (Loren) Schroeder, Gackle, ND;
2 granddaughters, Kala Bercier, Jamestown, ND; Tanya Schroeder, Jamestown, ND; 4 great grandchildren, Nick, Lauren, Matthias, Grace.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 4 sisters, and 5 brothers.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday June 23, 2012 in the First United Church of Christ in Gackle, ND with Rev. Tim Blackman, officiating.
The interment will be made in the Gackle Cemetery at Gackle, ND.
Visitation - 9:00 A.M. - 7:00 P.M. Friday @ the funeral home in Gackle
