Obituary

Evangeline E. Schauer, 89, Jamestown, ND died Sunday June 21, 2020 in Eventide at Hi-Acres.

Vangie was born February 26, 1931 at Streeter, ND, the daughter of Fred and Mathilda (Dockter) Schauer. She attended school near Streeter and graduated from Streeter High School in 1949.

She worked for the State of North Dakota as a computer operator for many years. She also worked in the Attorney General’s Office and the ND State Highway Dept.

Vangie was an avid Genealogist for the better part of 50 years, having wrote several books on genealogy and doing the Schauer family history back to the 1700’s.

She was a lifelong member of the Eagle’s Club and especially loved dancing to polka music.

Vangie is survived by her 4 children, Keith (Karolyn) Morris, Bismarck, ND; Brenda (Jamie) Johnson, Laughlin, NV; Berneta Morris, St. Paul, MN; Bernell (Jeff) Haugen, Mesa, AZ; 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; 4 brothers and 1 sister, Kermit (Phyllis) Schauer, Las Cruces, NM; Floyd (Bernice) Schauer, Jamestown, ND; Diana (Del) Spitzer, Minneapolis, MN; Ron Schauer, Streeter, ND and Ned Schauer, Bismarck, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and 2 sisters, Muriel and Susan.

Visitation – 4:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home

Funeral Services – 11:00 AM Friday June 26, 2020 at the Haut Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND (a recording of the service will be available late Friday afternoon).

Burial – Streeter Cemetery, Streeter, ND (later date)
