William Hoherz

June 8, 1937 — January 14, 2024

William ‘Bill’ Lloyd Hoherz, 86, Jamestown, ND died Sunday, January 14, 2024 at SMP Health-Ave Maria in Jamestown.

Bill was born June 8, 1937 at New Salem, ND the son of William and Mildred (Tausend) Hoherz. He grew up in the area, attending school in New Salem.  He joined the Army, serving for 2 years.  He then moved to Bismarck where he met and married Donna Gall on November 27, 1959, they made their home in Bismarck and Jamestown and they had four children.

He and Ruth Wilson Warcken were married December 19, 1987 at Jamestown, ND in the Presbyterian Church, they made their home in Jamestown.  In 1989, they moved to Devils Lake where they lived for 6 years before moving back to Jamestown.  Bill started selling Kirby vacuums in 1959 which he did until his retirement in 2000.  During his retirement he drove bus for the PBK school system north of Jamestown.

Bill had a love for music, he played the piano and guitar; he loved taking care of his lawn and found a love for his cats in his retired years, especially Tigger.  He was also an avid sports fan, following the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. 

Bill is survived by his wife, Ruth; children, Jay (Dawn Michelle) Hoherz, Fargo, ND; Juanita Schill, Hawley MN; Michael (Dawn Marie), Moorhead, MN; Brian Hoherz, Fargo, ND; Amanda Fletcher, Brainerd, MN; Gina Guthmiller and Michael Wilson, both of Jamestown; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 2 siblings, Lani (Earl) Bittner, Bismarck, ND and Alfred (Bernice) Cofer, Genn Ulin, ND.

He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, James Hoherz, Wayne Cofer, Jackie Tompkins; infant sister, Carley Mae; son in law Harold Schill, Jr.; grandson, Harold Schill III; and 6 stepsiblings.
