Walter B. Deutscher, 77, Streeter, ND, died Wednesday evening January 5, 2005 at the Wishek Community Hospital in Wishek, ND.

Walter Deutscher was born October 21, 1927 at Medina, ND, the son of Edward Deutscher and Aneta (Reister) Deutscher. He received his elementary education in the local rural school and graduated from Streeter High School in 1945. He entered the United States Army in 1946, served in the Field Artillery in Korea and was discharged in 1947.

He and Irene Remmich were married September 2, 1951 at Streeter, ND. They moved to Aberdeen, Washington and then moved to Orangevale, California where he was a General Contractor. Following the death of his wife on January 8, 1992 he continued to reside in Orangevale until moving back to Streeter.

He was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Orangevale. He was involved in the Cub and Boy Scout Programs. He was a member of St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Streeter having served as treasurer.

Surviving are his 4 children: Kenneth (Cathy) Deutscher, Rio Linda, CA, Wayne (Jennifer) Deutscher, San Mateo, CA, Karen (Don) Van Parys, Antelope, CA, Diane (Bill) Kidwell, Roseville, CA, 9 grandchildren, Ken Jr, Dilenna (Chad), Jason, Peter, John, Jake, Jordan, Brad and Brian, 3 brothers and 1 sister, Mrs. Lydia Moos, Streeter, ND, Alfred (Delores) Deutscher, Moorhead, MN, William ‘Bill' (Sandy) Deutscher, Streeter, ND, Wesley (Laurene) Deutscher, Anchorage, Alaska and 1 sister-in-law, Nancy Deutscher, Moorhead, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and 1 brother, Reinhold.

The funeral service is at 10:30 A.M. Monday January 10, 2005 at St. Lukes Lutheran Church, Streeter, ND with Rev. James Moos, pastor Officiating

Interment will be at St. Lukes Lutheran Cemetery, Streeter, ND

Arrangements are with the Haut Funeral Homes, Jamestown, ND
