Raymond W. Stough, 88, New York, NY, died December 26, 2006 at the Cabrini Medical Center in New York.

Ray Stough was born March 13, 1918, at Beach, ND, the son of Dr. Raymond W. Stough and Floy Louise (St. John) Stough. Dr. Stough died in 1920 leaving his widow and 3 children. In 1927, the family moved to Jamestown, ND where Raymond graduated from Jamestown, High School in 1936 and Jamestown College in 1940. In both schools, he was involved in football, music and drama. In college, he was an original member of the drama group, "The Prairie Players".

During WWII, he enlisted in the Merchant Marines and was primarily stationed in the Atlantic Ocean where he was a radio operator.

Raymond married Beatrice Williams in Chicago, IL and they later divorced. He then moved to New York City, NY. There Raymond was employed as a high school English teacher and was engaged in acting, appearing in off Broadway productions and television.

During several summers, he came to North Dakota and portrayed historical personalities at the Pembina Museum; Ft. Totten; Ft. Union; Anton Klaus of Jamestown and Teddy Roosevelt in the "Old Four Eyes" production at Medora, ND. He loved History, particularly that of North Dakota.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Frances Beier; brother-in-law, Arthur Beier; nephew, David Beier and niece, Patricia (Beier) Bibleheimer.

He is survived by his sister, Floy (William) McMillan of Jamestown, ND; nieces, Kathryn (Max) Dyba, Miles City, MT; Margery (James) Michael, Jamestown, ND and nephew, William K. (Theresa) McMillan of Jamestown, ND.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday January 13, 2007 in the Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown, ND with Rev. David Thompson, officiating.
