Phillip Mayer, 79, Jamestown, ND died Early Friday morning May 16, 2014 at Sanford in Fargo, ND.
Phillip was born July 22, 1934 on the family farm south of Medina, ND, the son of Albert and Christina (Kaesler) Mayer. He received his education at the Medina Public School and graduated from Medina High School.
He entered the United States Air Force September 16, 1953 at Fargo, ND. He served at various bases in the US and was discharge January 14, 1970 at Oklahoma City, OK, with the rank of SSGT.
He and Betty Trimble were married. He later moved to Alaska for 11/2 years until moving to Jamestown. He worked for Bill Graf Trucking in Streeter for 35 years. He then went to work for Pat Rivinius Farms driving truck for 6 years and retired.
He is survived by 1 son, Phillip Joseph Mayer, Oklahoma City, OK; 3 daughters, Denise Fietek, South Fork, CO; Phyllis Mayer, Irving, TX; Vicky McMillan, Phoenix, AZ; 3 step children, Paula Zobisch, Broken Arrow, OK; Paul Edward, Allen, TX; Allen Zobisch, Lake Eufaula, OK; many grandchildren; 1 brother, Maurice Mayer, Lisbon, ND; 2 sisters., Margie Lowe, Renton, WA; Betty Alonge, Nashville, TN and special friend, Harriet Remmick, Jamestown, ND.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
Memorial Service - 1:00 P.M. Wednesday May 21, 2014 at the Haut Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND, with Pastor Bryce Tahran, officiating.
Interment- Medina Cemetery, Medina, ND
