Pauline Beglau

Pauline Beglau, 98, Jamestown, North Dakota died Sunday afternoon February 6, 2005 at the Central Dakota Village in Jamestown, ND.

Pauline Remboldt was born August 28, 1906, 3 ½ miles Northeast of Gackle, ND, the daughter of John Remboldt and Justine (Lang) Remboldt. She received her elementary education in the local rural school and later attended the Sheyenne River Academy at Harvey, ND. She grew to womanhood in the vicinity where she helped on the family farm.

She and Gotthilf ‘Slim' Beglau were married November 5, 1928 in Jamestown, ND. They made their home on a farm North of Alfred, ND where they resided for several years before moving into Alfred where he worked for the Skelly Oil. Pauline kept house, worked in her garden and made quilts. In 1940 they moved back to the farm where they kept busy with farming and Slim working for the Federal Government. In 1977 they built a house in Gackle where they lived. Following the death of her husband in 1989 she continued to reside in Gackle. She moved to Jamestown, and later entered in Rock of Ages and Roseadele, and entered Central Dakota Village in January of 2005.

She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Gackle, ND and later in Jamestown, ND. They also spent their time traveling and vacationing in places such as Old Mexico, Key West, FL and the Peace Gardens, playing piano, Sabbath school teacher, very active in her Church and Community. She also was very hospitable and enjoyed entertaining people.

Surviving are 5 sister-in-laws, Alma Remboldt, Lodi, CA, Tillie Remboldt, Jamestown, ND, Donna Remboldt, Granite Falls, WA, Florence Beglau, Jamestown ND, Rebecca Beglau, Bismarck, ND, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, a special niece, Donna Seibold.

She was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother, husband, 3 brothers, Emil, Aaron, Art and half brother, Erwin.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Thursday February 10, 2005 in the Haut Funeral Chapel in Gackle, North Dakota with Rev. Dave Stuart, officiating pastor.

Interment will be made in the Seventh-Day Adventist Cemetery NE of Gackle, ND
