Melvin Pfaff

Melvin Pfaff, 87, Jud, ND died Thursday night, March 10, 2005 at the Central Dakota Village in Jamestown, ND.

Melvin Pfaff was born February 20, 1918 in Bluebird Township the son of Henry Pfaff and Leontina (Fode) Pfaff. He received his elementary education in the local rural school and grew to manhood in the vicinity where he helped on the family farm.

He and Anna Fregien were married April 18, 1943 at Jud, North Dakota. They made their home on the Herman Schardin Farm. In 1949 they purchased their present farm from Levi Drenth. They resided on the farm until 1976 when they moved into Jud where they have since resided.
He entered the Central Dakota Village in Jamestown, December 16, 2004.

He was an active member of the Trinity Congregational UCC Church, Lions member, senior citizens and was a member of the Jud Community Choir. He loved farming and farming, wood working and the outdoors.

Surviving are his wife Anna, Jud, ND, his children, Sharon Kinzler, Jamestown, ND, Gary(Barbara) Pfaff, Holt, MO, Darrel (Jean) Pfaff, Jud, ND, Wayne (Pam) Pfaff, Edgeley, ND, Randa Pfaff, West Fargo, ND, 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 1 brother and 1 sister, Mrs. Anna Mickelson, Edgeley, ND and Albert (Viola) Pfaff, Jud, ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son-in-law, Wallace Kinzler.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday March 16, 2005 in the Trinity Congregatinal United Church of Christ in Jud, North Dakota with Pastor Barbara Murray, pastor officiating.

Prayer Service: 7:30 Tuesday evening at the Funeral Home.
Interment will be made in the Congregational Cemetery at Jud, ND.
