Leona M. Obrigewitsch, 92, Fargo, ND formerly of Medina, ND rejoined our Lord Thursday morning April 4, 2013 at the Villa Maria in Fargo, ND.

Leona Reis was born July 20, 1920 on the family farm north of Dickinson, ND, the daughter of Peter Reis and Magdalena (Martian) Reis. When she was a young child the family moved to a farm north of Fryburg, ND where she grew up and attended school. After completing 8th grade, she continued living and working on the family farm.

She and Philip Obrigewitsch were married January 24, 1946 at Belfield, ND. They lived and farmed north of Belfield. In 1959 they purchased and moved to a farm south of Medina, ND where they raised their family and farmed until 1996, when they moved into Medina. In December of 2008 they entered the Villa Maria at Fargo, ND. Following the death of her husband in March of 2009 she continued to reside in Fargo. They were married for 63 years.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Medina. She was a Sacristan for 20 years plus and member of the St. Mary's Altar Society. Everyone else came first. She was a 2nd mother to her grandchildren. Leona was an unselfish caregiver for her family and her husband. She is loved and will be missed by all those whose lives she touched.

She is survived by 4 sons, Raymond (Sharyn) Obrigewitsch, Antioch, CA; Mitchell "Mike" (Georgie) Obrigewitsch, Gaylord, MI; Lambert Obrigewitsch, Gschwend, Germany; Edwin Obrigewitsch, Medina, ND, 6 daughters, Patricia (John) Holland, Appleton, MN; Audrey Obrigewitsch, Fargo, ND; Janet (Dan Phipps) Obrigewitsch, Orono, MN; Mary (Joe) Kelsch, Fargo, ND; Bernie (Ed Schmidt) Obrigewitsch, Alexandria, MN; Francine Obrigewitsch, Las Vegas, NV; 15 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Catherine Klein and her triplet sister, Eleanor Ott, both of Dickinson, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 grandchildren, Michelle Lewis; Christopher Obrigewitsch; 7 sisters and 6 brothers.

Eucharist of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM Monday April 8, 2013 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Medina, ND with Father Jerome Hunkler, officiating.
Interment will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery at Medina, ND.
Visitation: 1- 8 Sunday April 7, 2013 at the Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown, ND
Prayer Service: 7:00 PM Sunday evening at the Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown.
