Gottlieb J. Dockter, 90, Napoleon, ND formerly of the Streeter, ND community died Thursday August 1, 2013 at the Napoleon Care Center in Napoleon, ND.

Gottlieb Dockter was born April 9, 1923 in Blue Ball Township of Logan County south of Streeter, the son of John M. and Katherina (Shaffer) Dockter. He received his elementary education in the local rural school and grew to manhood in the vicinity where he helped on the family farm.

He and Doris Schopp were married April 5, 1946 at Streeter, ND. They made their home on a farm until 1972. Gottlieb did carpenter work with Harold Zenker and his brother-in-law Adolph Guthmiller. He then worked for Marvin Miller and the Rockin N Ranch of Streeter where he worked part time until he retired.

He was a member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Streeter, ND. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling. He also enjoyed spending time with family. Gottlieb also enjoyed playing the banjo, mandolin and the harmonica with family and friends.

Surviving are his wife Doris, Streeter, ND, 3 sons, Daryl (Velma) Dockter, Jamestown, ND; Larry (Karen) Dockter, Medina, ND; Duane (Linda) Dockter, Grand Rapids, MN; 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 1 sister, Carolina Schatz, West Fargo, ND; 1 foster daughter, Ruth Casler, Fargo ,ND and 3 foster grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers, 2 sisters, and 2 great grandchildren.

The memorial service will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday August 6, 2013 in the Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Streeter, ND, with Pastor Hazel Behrens, officiating.

The interment will be made in the Streeter Cemetery at Streeter, ND
