Gordon Nelson

Gordon Ellsworth Nelson, 74, Duncanville, Texas, died Monday March 7, 2005.

Gordon Nelson was born April 21, 1930 in Franklin, Minnesota, and was raised by his grandmother Louise Nelson. He attended Franklin High school and continued with service in the Armed Forces obtaining an Honorable Discharge.

He and LaVern Schlittenhard were married March 10, 1966 at Reno, NV. He worked for the Army Air Force Exchange Service for 30 years providing a loving home to his family in Colorado, Hawaii, North Dakota, Korea, and finally Texas. However, he has always considered Gackle, ND his home.

He was actively involved in guiding and raising his three grandchildren.
He loved the great outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife LaVern, his children, Mark, Steve and Cindy, his grandchildren; Nicholas, Ashley and Jordan. The family resides in the Dallas area of Texas.

He was preceded in death by his mother and grandmother.

The funeral Service will be at 10:30 AM Saturday March 12, 2005 in the Grace Baptist Church, Gackle, North Dakota with Rev. Timothy Blackman, pastor officiating.

Interment will be made in the Gackle City Cemetery, Gackle, North Dakota.

Arrangements are by the Haut Funeral Homes in Gackle, North Dakota.

The prayer service will be at 7:30 PM Friday March 11, 2005 at the Haut Funeral Chapel in Gackle, ND
