Eldina Hehn

Eldina Hehn, 92, Jamestown, ND died Thursday evening, June 27, 2013 at the Eventide at Hi-Acres Nursing Home in Jamestown, ND.

Eldina Sommerfeld was born July 17, 1920 near Gackle, ND, the daughter of Gottfried Sommerfeld and Mathilda (Sherbinske) Sommerfeld. She received her elementary education at the local rural school and helped on the family farm.

She and Artie E. Hehn were married June 4, 1944 at Gackle, ND. They made their home in Gackle until 1964 when they moved to Stanley, ND. After the death of her husband, October 14, 1964 she moved to Fargo, ND and worked at St. Lukes Hospital until 1965. She then moved to Jamestown and worked at J.C. Penney's for 20 years until her retirement in 1985. She did some volunteer work at the Jamestown Hospital after her retirement.

She was a member of the First UCC Congregational Church in Jamestown.

She enjoyed bowling and was a member of some teams in League Bowling for 20 years.

Eldina is survived by her grandson, David (Kimberly) Olson, West Fargo, ND; 2 great grandchildren, Alexa and Brandon Olson, West Fargo, ND; 1 son-in-law, Duane Olson, Albert Lea, MN; and many special and wonderful nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Darien Olson; 2 sisters, 4 half-sisters and 3 half-brothers.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday July 2, 2013 at the Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown, ND with Pastor Bryce Tahran, officiating.

The interment will be at the Gackle Cemetery in Gackle, ND.

Visitation: 9am - 7pm Monday July 1, 2013 at the Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown.
