Edwin ‘Ed’ Remmick, 94, Jamestown, ND died Thursday evening June 18, 2020 at Ave Maria Village in Jamestown, ND.
Ed was born December 10, 1925 at Streeter, ND the son of Carl Remmich and Bertha (Adam) Remmich. He received his elementary education at Streeter Public School. He entered the United States Army October 1, 1950 at Fargo, ND. He served in Germany and was discharged at Ft. Custer, MI on September 12, 1952 with the rank of CPL.
He and LuWanna George were married May 2, 1951 at Fort Benning, GA. They made their home on a farm five miles south of Gackle where they farmed until retirement. They moved into Jamestown in 2005 where they have continued to reside. He entered Ave Maria Village in March of this year.
He was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church, Jamestown. Ed was active in the Mayer-Morlock Post 250-American Legion, Eagles, Lions, Township Board, Elevator Board, Church Board and the Logan County Social Service board. Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and traveling with his 5th wheel camper.
Ed is survived by his wife Lu, Jamestown, ND; his children, Shari Remmick (Lyle Talle) Tualatin, OR, Michael (Linda) Remmick, Devils Lake, ND; Mona (Mark) Klose, Jamestown, ND; grandchildren, Rebekah (Eric) Wilkie, Robert (Christy) Remmick, Patrick (Emily) Remmick, Andrew (Kristen) Klose and Rachael (Josh) Smaage; and 12 great grandchildren; 2 sisters and 1 brother, Lorina (Marv) Kuschel, Beulah, ND, Art Remmich, Bismarck, ND, Darleen Olson, Bella Vista, AR; 2 sisters-in-law, Valerie (Al) Scheet and Ella Remmick and a niece, Nettie Schuler who was raised like a sister.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers Alvin and Helmuth, 4 sisters, Annetta, Irene, Ida and Esther; 1 half-sister Elfreda.
Visitation – 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM Wednesday June 24, 2020 @ Funeral Home
Private Funeral Service – Thursday June 25, 2020 in the Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown, ND. (A recording of the service will be available late Thursday)
Burial will take place at the Gackle City Cemetery, Gackle, ND, following the Private Funeral Service
Military Honors: - Mayer-Morlock American Legion Post 250
In Lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to Jamestown Regional Medical Center Hospice and Atonement Lutheran Church, Jamestown, ND.
