Dorothy Dahl, 59, of Streeter, ND died of cancer on Monday, March 30, 2015, surrounded by her family and loved ones in Fargo under the care of Hospice.
Dorothy Marie Stading was born on May 16, 1955 to Rev. Reuben and Leota (Weisser) Stading in Norfolk, NE. They lived in Creston, NE where her father was a pastor. They moved to Washburn, ND, and then Gackle, ND where she graduated from high school in 1973. She graduated from North Dakota School of Science with honors as an LPN, and later attended the Institute for Advanced Conservative Study.
She and Dan Dahl were married July 8, 1977 in Gackle, and they made their home southwest of Streeter where they operated the feedlot for Dahl Land and Cattle LLP, and raised three wonderful sons.
Dorothy's passion for serving God and helping others was evident her entire life. She was employed by the Wishek Retirement Home, Central Valley Health and the Wishek Hospital. She was also a member of the South Central Human Service Center Advisory Group.
Dorothy loved Jesus, her church family at Temple Baptist where she enjoyed playing piano and keyboard, and the many young piano students who allowed her to be part of their lives. She loved anything pink and collected home decor with hearts or angels. She enjoyed cooking and eating German food and anything else that was healthy.
Dorothy is survived by her husband Dan, 3 sons Samuel, Streeter, ND; Jordan (Kendra), Moorhead, MN; and Nathan, Streeter, ND; 3 grandchildren, Hadley, Adrienne, and Maximus; 2 brothers Glenn (Pam), Apple Valley, MN; and Mark (Denise), Los Angeles, CA; Dan's family Jack, Dottie, Jeff, and John Dahl, all of Gackle, ND; Margo (Mickey) Spring, Fargo, ND; nephews Jeff (Danielle; Jackson, Ian) and Jason (Amy) Stading, Minneapolis, MN; Ethan Stading, Los Angeles, CA; nieces Brooke Dahl (Maine); and Gabby Stading, Los Angeles, CA.
