Curtis Dale Slaughter

Curtis Slaughter, 86, Jamestown, ND went peacefully to his heavenly home Thursday April 18, 2013 at the Eventide at Hi-Acres in Jamestown, ND.

Curtis Dale Slaughter was born October 10, 1926 on the family farm SE of Tappen, ND, the son of Clyde and Ida (Haadem) Slaughter. He received his elementary education in the local school and grew to manhood in the vicinity where he helped on the family farm.

He and Laverne Bauske were married on April 2, 1963 at Steele, ND. They made their home on the family farm where he farmed ranched with his brother Clarence. He later bought the farm and ranched with his son Kerry until illness moved them into Jamestown in 2008. He entered Eventide at Hi-Acres in January of 2012.

He was a member St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church at Tappen, ND. He enjoyed visiting with people and got great joy from his grandkids. He was a hard worker and found the good in everyone he knew.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Laverne, Jamestown, ND, his children, Daryl (Marilyn) Slaughter, Medina, ND, Kerry (Melissa) Slaughter, Tappen, ND, Lynn (Jordan) Shipley, Jamestown, ND, 9 grandchildren, Brandon (Lisa) Slaughter, Kami (Jake) Peterson, Kent, Sara, Cody, Shauna (Derek) Barnick, Shantel, Nicole, Triston and 1 great grandson, Ashton Barnick, 2 brothers, Delane Slaughter, Bismarck, ND, Harold Slaughter, Fargo, ND, 2 sisters Areda Owen, NY, Ivy Knight, PA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Clarence and Oren, sisters Alta and June.

Funeral Service will be at 10:00 Saturday April 20, 2013 in St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church at Tappen, ND with Rev. David Schmidt, officiating.

Interment will be made in the Fisher Cemetery North of Tappen, ND.

Visitation - 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM Friday @ the funeral home
