Christina 'Tiny' DeWitt

Christina ‘Tiny' DeWitt, 97, Gackle, North Dakota died Monday afternoon October 23, 2006 at the Wishek Home for the Aged in Wishek, ND

Christina Rose was born June 30, 1909 in Stutsman County near Gackle, ND, the daughter of Konrad Remboldt, Sr., and Elizabeth (Remboldt) Remboldt. She received her elementary education in the local rural school and grew to womanhood in the vicinity where she helped on the family farm.

She and Alvin DeWitt were married March 21, 1936 at Alfred, ND. They made their home in Alfred until 1944 when they moved to Gackle. He was involved in business until 1950 at which time he began farming his land near Alfred. Following the death of her husband August 6, 1972 she has continued to reside in Gackle. In 2003 she entered the Gackle Care Center in Gackle.

She was an active member of the Grace Baptist Church in Gackle.

Surviving is one daughter and son-in-law, Edris (Norman J.) Miller, Gackle, ND, 5 grandchildren, Barb (Ardell), Gackle, ND Tracy, Bismarck, ND, Roz (Bruce) Fargo, ND, Nona(Steve) Beulah, ND Kyle(Sarah) Bismarck, ND, 10 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, 2 step great grand-daughters, 5 step great great grandchildren, one sister-in-law, Erma Remboldt, Jamestown, ND

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 great grandson, 5 brothers, 6 sisters, Konrad, Jr, Edward, Christ, Lizzie, Pauline, Philipina, Lydia, Bertha, Albert, Arthur(Archie) and Helen. Christine was the last member of her immediate family.

The Funeral service will be at 11:00 Friday October 27, 2006 in the Grace Baptist church in Gackle, ND with Rev. Timothy Blackman, pastor officiating
Interment will be made in the Gackle City Cemetery, Gackle, ND
Prayer Service - 7:00 PM at the Funeral home
Visitation - 9-9 Thursday at the Funeral Home
